The appropriate hydraulic circuit pipe is selected by considering the flow pattern, pressure, and temperature according to the type of product being transported. They are used more intensively in industrial areas, ship, yacht, and fire protection systems.

Hydraulic line pipes vary in diameter from Ø5 mm to Ø42 mm and in wall thickness from 1 mm to 5 mm. Pipes are phosphated to prevent corrosion, and proper connection of pipes is necessary to reduce leaks and avoid noisy operation in the system.

There are points to be considered in pipe connections. These are: Cleanliness, Support, Function.

Dirty oil is the biggest cause of failures in hydraulic systems. Precision components are particularly exposed to problems caused by assembly debris. Therefore, assembly should be carried out in as clean an environment as possible, and pipe assemblies must be cleaned after installation.

Support

Support

When fluid passing through long hydraulic pipes is suddenly stopped or reversed, the pipes are subjected to vibration and shock. This results in loosening of connections and ultimately leaks. Therefore, pipes should be supported at appropriate intervals with pipe clamps. Wood or plastic clamps are suitable for use.

Function

Function

The pump suction pipe diameter should be larger than the pipe diameter in the pressure line. The connection from the tank to the pump should be as short as possible.

Due to vacuum at pump suction, suction connections must be tight to prevent air ingress.

Restricted passages in return lines cause pressure to rise and power to be wasted unnecessarily.

The distance between the cylinder and flow control valves should be short. Sufficient radius should be provided in return lines.
