Function of Hydraulic Circuit Pipes
Hydraulic circuit pipes are transmission lines that carry pressurised hydraulic oil between the pump, valves, and cylinders. Material and diameter selection must suit system pressure, flow rate, and environmental conditions.
Pipe line design should be planned to minimise pressure losses; sharp bends and unnecessary fittings should be avoided.
Materials and Standards
Cold-drawn steel pipes (DIN 2391, EN 10305) are the most commonly used material in hydraulic systems. Stainless steel pipes are preferred for corrosive environments.
Flare, bite-type, or welded fitting methods are used in pipe connections. Every connection point must be subjected to pressure testing.
Maintenance and Inspection
Leakage, vibration-induced loosening, and corrosion in pipe lines should be checked regularly. Pipes showing impact or crush damage must be replaced immediately.
